The National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA) is a professional non-profit association located in Washington, D.C. dedicated to the improvement of federal, state, and local government archives, records, and information management and the professional development of government records administrators and archivists. Members include county, municipal, and special district governments, state agencies (state records centers, archives and libraries), the National Archives and Records Administration; federal agencies and employees; public universities, and a number of provincial and institutional programs.
ARMA International is the community of records management, information management, and information governance professionals who harness the benefits and reduce risks of information.

AIEF is the leading non-profit organization enhancing the practical and scholarly knowledge of information management.
AIEF financially supports and publishes research addressing critical issues in information management; and provides scholarships that enhance knowledge, skills and abilities of aspiring and current practitioners in the information management field.

ICRM is an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers. The ICRM was incorporated in 1975 to meet the requirement to have a standard by which persons involved in records and information management could be measured, accredited and recognized according to criteria of experience and capability established by their peers.
The primary mission of the ICRM is to certify Records and Information Management professionals as Certified Records Managers (CRM) and Certified Records Analysts (CRA) including specialty designations and to administer a certification maintenance program that ensures its members remain current in this dynamic field. The ICRM serves as the certifying body for records and information management (RIM) professionals and the Nuclear Information and Records Management Association (NIRMA).
